VISION: A world of caring people who always lend their hand to help others!

MISSION: The Jarboe Foundation, INC is a registered non-profit organization and a 501c3 charitable organization located in Massachusetts which targets struggling individuals and families who are having hardships to profoundly make a difference in their lives.

ABOUT: We are inspired by the short story of The Star Fish and it's message that every little bit can help, no matter how small. We empower people to listen in their community to discover those who are struggling, however may be too embarrassed to ask for help, and then nominate them as a candidate. Participating in The Jarboe Foundation is a way to give back to these people in ways that restore hope, improve their quality of life, and let them know that they are not forgotten.  With our Everyone Enjoys Thanksgiving and Everyone Enjoys Xmas projects,  it's one neighbor at a time,  making a difference and taking a stand for our community. The Jarboe Foundation's goal is to energize each individual, that they may recover from their struggle quicker. We offer resources to better their long term financial situation and encourage them to take actions that will allow them to pay it forward in the future.

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE: You will begin to realize that we confuse things we want with things we need. When put in perspective, these items we want will seem insignificant compared to the desires of the less fortunate. Most of us reading this have what we need and the bottomless pit of "want" will never be filled.  Helping others less fortunate will put things in their place and fill that bottomless pit with contentment. The more you are involved in The Jarboe Foundation, the more you will have the energy and joy from giving that lasts forever. There are so many people, close to us, that need help and will never admit it. Help us make a difference!

A LETTER FROM OUR FOUNDERS

While going through an extremely difficult time in our lives, we were inspired to hear stories of so many others who had been through similar struggles. It’s not comforting to know that so many people are in need, but it helped put things into perspective. Things could always be worse, and for some, they were. We had each other and at the end of the day, that’s what mattered most to us.

Through those stories we started to realize that it wasn’t just the people far away on the news who had lost everything because of a disaster, it was also our neighbors, family, church members, and people in our own community; it was everywhere. It became so obvious that people we knew could be struggling without saying a word. We had remained silent for so long with our own problems that very few people knew about. At times, a package of leftovers from our parents would seem to save our life.

In October of 2012, while in California, we met up with a friend who shared with us his father’s story of delivering Thanksgiving meals to families in need in his community; The Anthony Robbins’ Basket Brigade. As soon as we got back, we got to work compiling a list of families that needed help. We successfully delivered to ten families as well as to four food pantries and shelters. We decided that our goal for Thanksgiving 2013 was to help thirty families.  It continued to grow from there.

The support from people willing to help is wonderful. It’s inspiring and emotionally overwhelming to know that so many people are in need, but also how many people are willing to help.

It is amazing what a community will do when they are given the opportunity.
